Venerable Shaolin Abbot Shi Yong Xin is the Abbot of the Songshan Shaolin Temple in Henan Province. Supporting the promotion of Shaolin Martial Arts, the Abbot gave his support and blessing for the founding Master Shi Yan Jia to set up the Qufu Shaolin Martial Arts School in 2008. Xin Shi Yong Xin was born in 1965 and joined the Shaolin Temple in 1981. He took office as the Shaolin Temple Abbot in 1999 after a long study as a monk at the Shaolin Temple and other monasteries. He became the thirtieth successor after the previous Buddhist Abbot Xue Ting Fu Yu. He is the chairman of Henan Province Buddhists Association, vice-chairman of China's Buddhist Association, representative of Ninth National People's congress and also the first Chinese monk ever to get a MBA degree. The Venerable Abbot Shi Yong Xin is renowned for his work for promoting Shaolin Buddhist culture, his writings as a scholar and for his continuous efforts of restoring the Shaolin Temple.
Master Shi Yan Jia
Master Shi Yan Jia (Wei Shifu) a 34th generation Shaolin Disciple of the current Shaolin Temple Abbot Shi Yongxin, came to the Shaolin Temple to learn Shaolin Kungfu from the age of 8 years old and stayed there for a further ten years. He is currently ranked at level 7. He has 8 years of experience in teaching Kung Fu to international students from all over the world and giving performances to many people. In the 1st national Shaolin Kung Fu competition he was awarded first place in traditional Shaolin Fist form and Shaolin Spear form. At the 9th Sports Meeting in Henan province, he also won first place for his Shaolin Staff routine, and in the championships of Zhengzhou, he came first in the Traditional Sword form category.
Master Wu
Master Wu, 65 years old, top-nationally ranked and one of the ten most famous Bagua Martial Artists in China. He was born into a family that became renowned for their practice as Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctors. Under his family's environment, Master Wu gained a foundation in Traditional Chinese Medicine and later went on to train as a certified Acupuncture and Massage Doctor. At the age of 15, he started to study Southern Fist with an old martial arts Master in Emei Mountain, Suchuan. There he was introduced to the Wudang School, regarded as the origin of Tai Chi and internal Kung Fu. He has been practicing Kung Fu ever since, for what is now 50 years.As his practice developed, he searched for a higher understanding of the internal style. In the 1980s, he started to do research into Bagua and from it published many articles in professional journals. His practice and research has culminated in what he now teaches to others, a specially developed and unique system of Bagua.
Master Shi Yan Chen
Master Shi Yan Chen (Wei Shifu) is a 34th generation Shaolin Disciple and general master of the Shaolin Warrior Monks. He joined the Shaolin Temple in 1995 and followed the Shaolin Temple Abbot Shi Yong Xin to learn Buddhism and Shaolin Kungfu. Ten years of dedicated cultivation with the great master led him to the wisdom teachings of Buddhism. He makes an excellent Shaolin Warrior monk of great knowledge. He masters well both the Shaolin 18 kinds of Weapons and the 72 secret skills. He has been invited to the U.S., Canada, Germany, India, Australia, UK, Netherlands, Russia, and France to give performances and teachings on Shaolin Kungfu and received lots of passive comments from the Kungfu professions both at home and abroad. He specializes in Shaolin fist forms like Hong Quan, Chaoyang Quan; Shaolin Weapon Forms like Shaolin Staff (Gun), Shaolin Spear (Qiang), Double Swords (Shuang Dao) and Double Whips (Shuang Bian); animal forms like Tiger, Eagle and Snake Forms.
Master Shi Yan Hao
Master Shi Yan Hao (Huang Shifu), a 34th generation Shaolin Disciple, was born into a Kungfu family and started to learn Kungfu from his father at the age of 3. He went to the Shaolin Temple in 1996 and became the apprentice of Abbot Shi Yong Xin. He later joined the Shaolin Temple Warrior Monk group in 2002 and is now one of the main coaches. He is highly skilled at Shaolin traditional fist forms such as Shaolin Xiaohong Quan, Dahong Quan, Xiaopao Quan, Pao Chui, Qixing Quan, Meihua mantis, Chang Hu Xinyi Men, Taizu Chang Quan and with weapons like broadsword, straight sword and staff etc. Master Shi Yanhao is also very accomplished in the internal martial arts of Taichi, Bagua and Baji. He has been to the USA, Canada, Germany, Indonesia, Australia, the UK, Korea and to Thailand many times for performances and teaching.
Master Shi Yan Qiang
Master Shi Yan Qiang (Zhang Shifu), a 34th generation Shaolin warrior monk who started to learn Shaolin Kung Fu from the age of nine years old. During his eight year study at the Shaolin Temple, he completed his education in Shaolin Kungfu theory and in hundreds of traditional Shaolin forms. He specializes in Seven Star Fist (qixing quan), long-handle sword (pu dao), double hammers and Shaolin traditional soft weapons such as chain whip, double whips, three-section staff and shepherd's whip etc. In 2005, he was awarded second place on long-handle sword and tiger style for 'Martial Arts on Mountain Shizi Shan' in Hong Kong. In 2007, at the 'Eighth mineral tribe traditional sports meeting in China', he was awarded first place for his double-hammers form, and in 2008, attending the "Seventh Asia Martial Arts Championship' in Macau, his performance on chain whip was deemed 'excellent'. He has been to Korea, India, Italy and Germany to give performances and teach and has earned much approval and praise for his Shaolin Kung Fu.
